There are moments that are remembered not only by the date on the calendar, but by the emotions they carry. Moments that stay with us long after the lights go out, the music fades, and the celebration comes to an end. Such was the unforgettable summer evening at Nestville Open Fest 2026, when we shared a moment we had been waiting an incredible seventeen years for.
In the unique atmosphere of the festival, we officially unveiled the new bottle of the limited-edition Nestville Whisky Master Blender 2026 17YO. For many guests, it was a powerful moment filled with pride, emotion, and admiration. Yet it was much more than the unveiling of a new whisky edition. It was a moment when the past, the present, and the future of the Nestville Whisky brand came together.
This exceptional whisky was not created overnight. It is the result of seventeen years of patience, hard work, the courage to believe, and an unwavering pursuit of excellence. Throughout its long maturation in oak casks, it developed its distinctive character, depth, and remarkable story. Every drop carries the legacy of the people who, years ago, chose to embark on a journey that no one could have imagined would take us beyond not only geographical borders, but also beyond what we once believed was possible.
When we look at this remarkable bottle today, we see much more than whisky. We see thousands of hours of dedication, countless decisions, invaluable experience, achievements, and challenges. We see a story that began seventeen years ago with a bold vision—to create a Slovak whisky that would proudly stand among the world’s finest and represent our country on the international stage.
Today, the courage to believe in a long-term vision is one of the greatest values of all. Seventeen years ago, no one could have known what the outcome would be. Yet that single decision changed the lives of hundreds of people and helped shape the story of Nestville Whisky—a story we are immensely proud of today.
The ceremonial unveiling was also a celebration of our craft and the everyday dedication of our colleagues at Nestville Distillery. It honoured the people who stood beside our oak casks, carefully monitored every stage of production, safeguarded the highest quality standards, and believed for years that this day would eventually come.
It was also a tribute to our Master Blender, whose expertise, precision, and passion helped create a whisky of truly exceptional character. Above all, it was a tribute to our owners and their courage to invest in a dream. Its true results only became visible after nearly two decades.
Nestville Whisky Master Blender 2026 17YO represents the very best that can be achieved through a combination of vision, expertise, passion, and respect for traditional production methods. It proves that even in a small village beneath the Tatra Mountains, it is possible to create a whisky that earns the admiration of whisky connoisseurs around the world.
The selection of this exceptional edition was entrusted to an international panel of respected whisky experts. Joining two distinguished representatives of Nestville Distillery were Eddie Nara, a renowned whisky educator and lecturer from Hong Kong and Macau; Steve Beal, Senior Whisky Master and international judge at the International Whisky Competition in the USA; and Andrej Paholík, President and Founder of the Bratislava Whisky Club. Their expertise, experience, and appreciation for excellence guided the selection of the whisky that has now become the newest addition to the prestigious Nestville Whisky Master Blender collector’s series.
Nestville Whisky Master Blender 2026 17YO owes its distinctive character to a unique maturation process.
Part of the blend matured in casks that previously held Nestville Beer Dark Lager. This unique process imparts a gently malty and beautifully layered flavour profile. Rich notes of caramel and black tea leaves create a deep aromatic foundation. Delicate hints of leather and waffle cake complete the aroma.
On the palate, caramel sweetness returns with chocolate-coated coffee beans. A touch of dried mango adds a subtle exotic nuance. The finish is bold and lingering, leaving behind elegant notes of dried tropical fruit that fade gracefully.
Throughout the evening, it became clear that this was far more than the unveiling of a new bottle. It was a celebration of the courage to begin, the patience to persevere, and the belief that the finest things in life simply take time. Every toast, every round of applause, and every smile reminded us that behind every great achievement stand extraordinary people.
